Vegas or a Cruise?I

I’m having trouble deciding where to go for vacation. Vegas can be more fun then one human should have, like the saying goes, "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas". It’s also a dream come true for any poker player, action around the clock for any amount you desire. Last time I was there poker was just getting big so there wasn’t as much to choose from. Now you can get any game for any limit you want 24-7.
Although I work in a poker room the limitations on game selection can be frustrating. Personally I like a good limit game but when there is only one to choose from (normally 3/6) it’s hard to find any good players for higher limits. Unfortunately, these day’s, everyone wants to play no-limit. Don’t get me wrong, I like the game but prefer to play it tournament style. If I do decide to play no-limit it’s usually 1/2, I would play higher but lack the bankroll. NL can be fun but for me sometimes I just want a comfortable limit game. I like batting heads with the best of them but not every time I play, sometimes I just want enjoy the game without having to play for my whole stack on every hand.
Limit’s a tougher game to make money at if your looking for a big score, usually your pushing small edges while spending most of your time waiting for those type of hands. NL is fun because you have some betting power, but like I said, sometimes I just want to have some fun without playing for everything in my pocket, and that’s what limit provides.
The problem with limit here is that there is only one game to choose from. What people don’t understand is that if you played for a higher limit such as 10/20 or 20/40, it can get very juicy in a hurry! At those limits dragging a $500 pot is common place and makes all the waiting much more worth the time.
If I do decide to go to Vegas this is what I will play. So, while I’m tempted to go get a good game while taking a week off from work, I’m also tempted to just get completely away from it all by doing a cruise.
I’ve never been on a cruise and I hear they are quite the fun thing to do. Ships today offer every amenity desirable and everything is right there in one place. Plus you get to see different ports of call and can tour them at every stop which kind of breaks up the monotony of sailing.
I am leaning heavily towards the cruise for several reasons, but mainly just to get away from it all. While I’m tempted to play a good game of poker in Vegas I’m thinking some time away from the casino would do me some good.
The main reason for Vegas was the deals, it’s a cheap vacation if you don’t gamble much. Even though that sounds fun I think laying out by the pool on the ship and dancing in the club at night sounds like a lot more fun. Plus I get to see the beach which living here is something I miss emensly.
I’ve also since learned that the fairs for cruises are pretty cheap these days too so going won’t cost me a mountain. I also like the fact that everything you could want to do is right there in one place, dancing, swimming, lounging and lot’s of good food are all included.
There are many activities to participate in and even dinners shows plus movies in your room and even an internet connection.
So, I’m still looking into both, I’m just excited that I finally get to go somewhere, a much needed vacation away from home that will hopefully recharge my batteries for the months to come.
Especially since I’ve not hit my goal this year yet, I could use some R&R and re-evaluate a new strategy to finish out the year.
I’ve decide to go soon, this way I can also celebrate my birthday.

My truth about two women

Honesty is almost no where to found these days. In my experience, the act of actually telling the truth is often surpassed by all the little "white" lies we often get away with. We all know that in the end, honesty is always the best policy, but it sure is hard sometimes to resist giving a "glorified" version of the truth.
I’m not saying I have never stretched the truth in my favor, in fact, I think it’s safe to say we’ve all done it a time or two. I do however, still believe, that being "straight up" is the best way to go even when it’s not always the easiest.
Recently I’ve made some new friends at work, both of them being women. I’ve always been friendly at work, in fact, I make it a point to talk to anyone no matter their place on the corporate ladder. I like getting to know people of all ages and walks of life, in my opinion, it allows me to see things from different points of view.
In this particular case I’ve spent considerable time talking with both of the women in question and while I do find them both attractive, there is one in particular that has captivated my interest over the other. Since I’ve been out of the dating game for awhile I find it hard sometimes to understand or even catch any of the would be signals. I don’t fancy myself as a playboy at all but, then again, I have been around the block a time or two. While I don’t feel like an expert on the subject I do think I’m capable of up the occasional sign even if I may understand what it means at the time.
So, to get back to the story, I’ve spent some time trying to get to know these two women who have piqued my interest.
Both of them are very different from the other and to me that’s a good thing. Both are also very attractive in their own right and I feel honored to speak with them on any level.
There are different things I like about each one even though both women are interesting in different ways.
The one I like the most has spent lot’s of time with me lately and I’ve since decided that she is the one I am going to go for.
Interestingly enough, things were going along just fine until a curveball was thrown my way.
Things were going along nicely with the one I liked the most and then all of a sudden the other one asked me out! Now, I don’t want to sound like a two timer so let get one things straight, once I decided which one I like the best I pretty much stopped talking to the other. I wasn’t rude about it, all I am saying is, I didn’t try to get with both at the same time. Once I had decide which one I liked the most I pretty much just focused on her and stopped talking to the other. That’s when it got interesting, the one I was not focussing on asked me out!
I was flattered to say the least! This however presented a problem, if I said no to her and nothing works out with the other then I would be out of luck on both ends.
I know how most guys would think, they would try to go out with both at the same time, and I will admit, I was tempted to try it. So, here I was, getting along great with the one I liked the most and getting asked out by the other. This was a problem for me because I didn’t want to lose out on an opportunity but at the same time didn’t want to lead anyone on.
This is when I came up with the bright idea of being honest with both. Since I always thought honesty was the best way to go I figured I would just tell them both what I was thinking in the hopes that they would understand and appreciate my being straight up about it.
The only problem with this was the risk of losing both due to them thinking I was playing them some how, which is totally not the case. I was friends with them both and once I had set my sights on one had not interacted as much with the other. Since neither one knows I’m even interested in them it can hardly be considered underhanded. I simply met two people I liked, decided which one I wanted to spend time with and went from there. The interesting part is the fact that the one I pretty much stopped talking to all of sudden comes running. Like I said before, I was flattered and tempted but I had already decided which one I liked and was focusing in that direction when this came up.
I didn’t know what to do, on one hand, I was pleased at the progress between me and the one I liked but at the same time, didn’t want to lose out on a possibility with the other in case the first one didn’t work out. It dawned on me that I was thinking all wrong, if I really like the other one then nothing else should distract me from her. So I decided to honest with both, even though they didn’t know what was going on to begin with.
I decided to tell the one I liked that I had been asked out by another and that I was going to turn her down because I want to be with you. Then I was going to tell the one who asked me out that while I was flattered at the invite, it wouldn’t be fair for me to do so I really wasn’t interested in going any further.
I don’t know why I am so compelled to always tell the truth, I guess it’s because I figure it’s better to straight. In my opinion there is enough dishonesty in this world and I don’t want to be like everybody else. I want to do and say what I mean even if that’s not the normal way to go. Most guys in this situation would try to go for both, I decided not to. I am not most guys, I never have been. I’m not trying to toot my own horn or pretend that I’m some kind of angel, I’m simply saying that to me it’s more important to do the right thing. I have always been this way and am not going to apologize for it either. The old adage that "nice guys" finish last does not hold true for me.
I’ve decided that this is one nice guy who won’t finish last and will continue to be straight up about things even when and if it’s not popular.
I’m tired of cheats, I see them every night in the casino and what does it get them in the long run? Nothing but a lot of heart ache and bad beats.
So, back to the story, did exactly that, I told the one I like about the being asked out and that I turned her down because I want to be with you. She was surprised to say the least and I think my honesty paid off. We still talk and have a nice time together even though she has not said one way or the other about how she feels about me. As far as the other is concerned, I’m still flattered at the invite but hope she appreciates the honesty.
By being honest in this situation I was running the risk of losing them both, when in reality, all I wanted was the company of one. Once I realized that it made sense to be straight up. I am happy to say that so far the risk was well worth it. I continue to have a great friendship with the one I like with hopes of it going further and both of them seem appreciate the honesty from me.
It’s uncommon for someone, especially a guy, not to try to take advantage of a situation like this but that’s the way I like to be, uncommon!
I’m no prince, just a regular guy trying to make it the best way I know how in this world. I’ve had my share of setbacks but I still believe that honesty is the best policy and in this case that still holds true!
All I can say is, do what is right and do the best you can with what ever it is you have to work with and I promise you things will work out for the good. Don’t ever give up on that Idea either, because the moment we lose hope is when we start to die. I say keep hoping and doing and see what happens, the fight may be hard but well worth it in the end.
This is also my plan for business, to do the best with what I’ve got and work on making it better. Integrity is rare, especially in the corporate world, but that’s also what make’s it so valuable!

Super Club Wanted

Have you ever wanted to start a Club? I've always wanted my own club, a place where I can unwind and relax after a hard days work.

There are many clubs in the city, mostly "meat markets" with no real atmosphere or imagination. When I say a club, I mean a real one, with a great dance floor, lights, sound and maybe even a stage! I don't want to see another neon beer sign on the wall, instead, how about some carpet, like some of that old shaggy seventies stuff? I mean use a good color of course,  don't have some ugly bright orange thing going on but anything would be better than another blinking bud light sign in my face.

I get tired of the same old thing, why don't we have a cool place to go in this city? You know, like a euro peon style club complete with a stage and cool dj's.

Wouldn't it be cool to walk in and see a real light show or leather on the ceilings!

Realistically with today's computer technology the possibilities are endless! Think about this, what if you could swipe a members card at the door for entry? This same card could have all your personal settings included, such as, your favorite drink order, or lighting preferences at your favorite table that would automatically trigger when you swiped the card on entry!

The possibilities are endless and if the goal was to see how cool we could make it instead of the clubs profits then I think it would be a success. The problem with the business world today is getting the money. Since the money resources require a solid business plan one must focus to that end only. What I would like to see is a different motive, such as, let's just see how cool we can make instead how much money could or need to make.

The need to make a profit to cover the bill is understandable but sadly that becomes priority over the creative side. I would like to see creativity be the main purpose instead. I think if one were to go all out with the main purpose being to see how cool they could make it that in the end they would make more money then anticipated. Normally, they just try to show the a profit in order to get the money needed. If someone would approach with creativity being the main focus I think we would be amazed at the outcome!

Imagine having a place where the walls are actually screens showing any media one desire's! For example, they could have a beach night theme and when you walk in you would see waves crashing all across the walls of the room!

It would also be cool to have the ability to log in online and see who's there through a live cam or better yet, order your drink to be ready when you get there!

There are any number of possibilities but they either get lost in the lack of funding or the people who do put one up have no imagination at all.

I don't which is the cause but I do know that someday I will make a club with these ideas in mind. I think it would be so successful that they would put them up all over the country!

I just like the idea of imagination being the focus instead of anything else. Walt Disney demonstrated this with his ideas and they worked! Imagine a place where one could actually say, it's like a Disney World for adults! When I say that I don't mean it has to "raunchy", or "explicit" so to speak, I just mean it's a place for mom and dad to unwind and enjoy some time together. The kids have their places to go, from theme parks to the local mcdonalds swing set play area, but there are not to many place's for married couples to hang out.

I'm not saying single are not welcome, by all means, this is for everyone, I would just like to see a fun place for mom and dad to go, so to speak. Something besides going to the movies.

 

Some day I would love to create this environment, maybe once I get to a better point financially I can get it done, but for now, it's just a dream.

Full Tilt Poker Run!

I think it's time for me to start playing some poker again. I have pretty much stopped playing this year, in fact, I haven't played live at all. It's unusual for me to not play, at least a little bit. My friend and I played a sit & go online several weeks ago and that has been the one and only time since the beginning of the year.

I love to play poker but have put it on the back burner in order to focus on other things, such as, my debt free goal and this blog. Even though I am committed to staying focused I realize that some down time can do a person some good. For this reason I am thinking it's time to get back into the action!

I love to play online and for now Full Tilt is the best site to play on for me. I used to make pretty good money online and to be honest, I kind of miss it. Playing online can be a very tricky thing, especially since there is some collusion going on. No one really knows how much or to what extent it exists but I think it's safe to say that it happens quite frequently.

Strangely the collusion doesn't bother me that much. Even though I know it exists I have still been able to produce a profit. I am not sure how or why, mostly I think one just has to play super tight in order to come out ahead.

One of the hardest things about playing online is the ability to resist playing to many tables at once. I like playing many tables simultaneously but it cuts down on the ability to really focus on one game. While simultaneous play is one of the benefits of playing online its also a the main reason people don't win. They try to play to many games at once and lose focus easily. I know because it's happened to me.

Another hard thing is staying focused online due to so many options, such as, surfing the web or checking mail while playing. Its nice to multitask and if your just playing for low limits or just for fun then it's no problem but doing anything serious can falter due to these activities.

My goal in playing online now is to come up with a system of play that exploits my abilities. Since I am good at playing sit & goes my plan is to focus on them. If I play no more then two tables at a time I can stay focused and make money at it.

There is also less collusion in tournaments because people cannot control which table their sitting at. For example, in a cash game, you might be the only "fish" at the table because everyone else at the table knows each other. In a tournament it's harder for them to set this up due to the computer randomizing the seating order.

This is especially true in bigger multi table events where there may be hundreds or even thousands of entrants. There is no way (that I know of) for cheaters to sit together and take your money.

It's easier for them to do so in smaller events such as sit an goes but even then it's still not a garauntee that they will get your money. They may know which cards are out but they cannot stop you from getting the best hand!

This only time to collusion is a problem for me is when they try to bet me out of the hand because they have more information about the cards that are out then I do. While that's not playing fair, I feel I can still beat them by knowing the odds as well as how well my hand would hold up over time. If I know what they are thinking or trying to do but I also know how good my hand is then they can try anything they want to, if my hand is good, then they are going down!

 

I could go on all day long about online playing and collusion, but all I am trying to say is this, I think developing a solid online strategy is possible. I also believe with the proper tools I could be successful at online play and would like to give it a shot again.

I've stayed away from poker this year for several reasons, one of which is the fact that I just don't have the time. My goal has been to develop better daily habits that will help me succeed in the long run verses just doing what sounds good or fun today.

I believe that once I can get my other projects off the ground and brining in some nice supplemental income that there will plenty of time to play later.

Since I have stayed committed to my goal this year and plan to keep doing so, I think having some down time may do me some good. Although I spend a lot of time in a poker room due to my job I still enjoy the game.

I think for now I'm going to get back to playing online again to work on developing a successful system of play that will help me reach my financial goals.

There are many poker sites out there to play on but Full Tilt is one of my faces, plus they have lot's of action and offer the kind of limits that suit my bankroll.

Alomst half over

Unbelievably we are quickly reaching the middle of the year! It’s amazing to me how fast time flies. My goal when I started this blog was to list all the daily actions I take to become debt free by June 1^st this year. Since that time the blog has undergone many changes, one of which, is not keeping up with the daily posts. Even though I haven’t kept up with the daily posting I am glad that I am following through on my idea.

I think following through with something is the most important thing on the road to success, even when things don’t turn out the way you wanted or thought they would.

I don’t regret starting the blog or the progress I have made but I will say I wanted to be a closer to my debt free goal by now. I am by no means giving up on the idea, I still have plenty of time to sell a house or bring in some online income to make it happen.

Hopefully I can make my goal of becoming debt free by June 1^st, that’s my birthday and It would be the best present of all!

Circumstances have slowed me down a bit, such as, going through the hardest winter we have ever seen in Oklahoma. All though I don’t believe in excuses, I do know that life happens, the important thing is to keep moving forward in spite of any setbacks.

The ability to keep moving in the direction you seek while not letting the bad things slow you down is to me the most important quality anyone can exercise.

So, with that said, even though I’ve not kept up with the daily posts and the winter weather made it hard to get out and look at houses to do deals on, I am happy that I have kept it going. I have done the best with what I currently have to work with. If going outside wasn’t an option, then I would simply take that as an opportunity to work in doors, such as, working online.

Since posting daily has been a challenge, I decided to at least post often as opposed to nothing at all. Instead of giving up on my goal because time is running short, I am looking at every opportunity I can to still make it happen!

As you know I have been working on some new software lately and my hope is to have it done soon. Even though it won’t make me any money I think it’s necessary to complete the project and reward my readers as promised. This may keep me from reaching my financial goal but at least I will have provided something of value to people and made good use of my time.

I believe it’s simply a matter of time before I reach my goal, the important thing to me is having one in the first place. It’s been said that people lose in life because they fail to plan, so, to me, at least having one is a good thing, even if I miss the target.

My plan now is to continue until the deadline I have set for myself. I may have to adjust some things and exercise new strategies at some point but the important thing is to not give up!

New computer hardware here I come

I've been waiting for my chance to get a new system for a long time and now I think I may just "dive in". It's no secret my current machine's inadequacies slowing me down is hindering my success. I do many things online, most of them simultaneously, so I need a system that can handle the load.

 

Computer prices are drastically cheaper these day's, especially if your building your own. I'm not the hardware expert but with the help of some friends I may just give it a try. It's hard to decide though because buying a "ready made" is so easy and cheap these day's.

 

I also prefer a laptop due to it's mobility, plus, most of them are plenty powerful these days. I'm leaning towards a desktop this time because of my current home setup. Since I'm running multiple s monitors (5 min) and applications simultaneously, I'm trying to decide if I should have one specially built for that purpose.

 

Ultimately I would prefer to have both a desktop and laptop that work together so I can still be mobile while having my "control center" setup at home, but the funds just are not there.

I'm thinking having a desktop would do me just fine for now with a laptop upgrade to come later.

I also need a faster internet connection, while I like crickets prices, I'm simply doing to much on line to be slowed down.

The extra price is worth it for me at this point because the time I would save waiting for things to load would translate into more productivity.

 

I don't have much to spend but at this point any thing has got to better then what I have now. At least I haven't let it slow me down, it may be hard to get things done and take a lot longer then I would like but at least I'm making the most out of what I do have.

It's funny, often I see my friends machines and dream of the day when I can have one. It amazes me how they don't seem to realize the power at their finger tips, here they are with all this hardware just to play games. Don't get me wrong, I love video games but the thought of what I could build with those tools that could bring in an income for life boggles my mind.

To me, the thought of spending some time to use these tools to bring in the kind of income that can earn me the money I need to stay home and play video games all day long if I want to.

It just seems sad to me that we all seem to think of making money as a hard thing to do. I guess that's just how we have been programmed to think, go to work, come home, watch t.v., go to bed, tomorrow start over again.

It's a vicious cycle that I aim to break! It's not the money I want but the time! Yes, I want my time back! I'm tired of spending 80% of my time with negative people and still not having enough to pay the bills.

It would be different if I was actually making enough to do something cool with, like build my own castle to live in or sleep on my own island at night after work, but right now, all I get to do is work, sleep and watch the bill collectors run of with all my money. Sad to say the least. It's ok though, things are looking up, I'm continuing with my blog, learning the internet and now hoping to amp things up with a proper machine.

I think once I get to actually spend some time working in a more efficient fashion while using the proper tools that I can finally get things rolling in the direction that I have always dreamed!

 

If you have any idea's on what kind of machine I should buy then please let me know. For now, I am taking it slow and evaluating all my options but I can always use some advice!

Will Tiger Win Today at the Masters?

Will Tiger Win today? I hope so, I know he is being scrutinized lately but that fact is, he is simply the best in world at what he does and to me that’s an amazing and impressive feat in any arena.
I don’t have to agree with his personal choices to enjoy watching his amazing ability to focus under pressure. I dare anyone to perform under the circumstances in which he must operate, meaning, the pressure’s of the crowds, sponsors, t.v. results, fellow players, being in the heat of the moment, nerves, you name it, he’s putting up with it and still making it happen!

I love watching the masters golf tournament, it’s one of my fave’s! Not only is it one of the most soft after titles in the sport but it’s the one tournament in the world that intentionally cuts down on commercials and let’s you focus on the play.
Most people say watching golf is like watching the grass grow but to me it’s about watching the effort these men put into their game. I’m not much of a sports watcher because team sports seem to bore me for some reason. I like the "individual" sports like Golf or Billiards.
I think that’s because in my opinion these require more skills to win since you don’t have the help of a team. I have nothing against team sports, most of them are fun to watch and play but to me, it’s a real test of the human will and ability when one has to perform on his own.
Tiger Woods has been a grand example of this, his will to win and stay focused under immense pressure is second to none!
To me, it’s a testament to the powerful things one can do if he really wants to. I don’t car what topic or industry you examine, it’s rare to find anyone who can consistently put forth that kind of effort on a regular basis.
It makes me wonder what things we could all accomplish if we were truly committed to any task we set out to do. That is the real question to me, how do I actually make myself get that focused about anything I do? I think if I could ever be that committed to anything I tried to do success would be imminent.

That brings me to my attempts this year at this blogging thing, I have tried to stay committed to it but can I really say I have put everything I’ve got into it? I don’t think so, I mean, I have stayed with it and kept going even though I don’t see the results I want yet, but have I really applied the kind of focus to my blog that Tiger would put into his game? I think not, at least, not yet.

All I can say is that my hat is off to Tiger Today, I hope he wins!
May all of us put in even half the effort into our daily live’s or tasks as he does and see what happens, we just might surprise ourselves!

So many Twitter Tools

Twitter Automation is an amazing thing these day's. There is a myriad of available to tools along with websites to use. Each one has a different purpose, sometimes it's the same thing just done a different way.

I guess that's how business works today, someone comes up with a great Idea and everyone else just tag's along. I can't blame them though, I mean, that's how we became a superpower anyway, by making an existing system even better.

 

My own twitter automation software will be ready soon. It's been a learning experience from the word go, much more work than I thought it would be.

I realize I've been promising this for over a month now, but the truth is, I just didn't know how involved it would be.

There is so much to think about, there's the setting up of auto responders each with their own set of thank you pages and confirmation emails, the list goes on.

A month ago I didn't even know what a thank you page was, I had seen many but had no idea what I was looking at. Now I am trying my hand at writing one and let me tell you, it's not as easy as it looks.

The funny thing is, the software it's self was much easier to set up than the system that will deliver it.

I am by no means complaining, on the contrary, I have learned so much about internet marketing in the last month that it actually boggles my mind. I think the hardest part for me is that I am doing all of this alone, all by myself. No one is showing me how to set this up, I am just learning as I go. I will say, it makes it a lot more fun, it's like putting the pieces of a puzzle together.

 

I do have some good news, after spending the last two days straight on the computer, I am proud to say that I am finally getting close to finishing this project.

 

I have decided to name the software Magic Tweets. It's a small download that will work right from your desktop allowing you to actually set up scheduled tweets to go out at intervals that you decide. I will admit, while it's not the most fancy looking software, it is FREE and does the job very well.

 

Like I said in the begging of this post, there is a myriad of twitter tools out there, many of them very good in fact, but there are very few that actually allow you to set up scheduled posts. The cool thing is connecting other accounts to your twitter profile so that your post will go out to multiple profiles without you having to actually go online and login to them all. I think this is the one thing I like the most, it also helps keep me focused on my work at hand so I don't get distracted. It seems like every time I log in somewhere to do one thing I end up doing 10 other things I had not planned or even time for, like responding to updates or messages.

The nice thing about using my desktop tool is this doesn't happen, I can just send out one post which goes to all the places I need it to and keeps my all my profiles updated.

This is helpful to keep my time management on track. When you keep as busy as I do you learn real quick the value of time.

 

So, I encourage anyone to seek out the other tools that are available out there but when you need something simple that actually saves you some time in multiple ways, my hope is that you will give my free software a try.

Of course, this all depends on weather or not I ever get it finished. I know it's taken me a long time, but in my defense, what do you expect from a rookie who is learning while doing all at the same time, all I can say is, I'm doing the best I can!

 

Never let what you don't have slow you down or stop you from trying, that's what this whole blog is about. So keep trying, work on your dreams and take steps to make them happen even if you don't always know where when or how.

Easter Sunday comes again!

Easter Sunday sure came quick again this year, I can’t believe so much time has gone by already. Time is passing quickly this year and it’s all I can do to keep up. While I am enthused about the things I have already accomplished I can’t help but feel like somethings missing. My plan to become debt free by June 1st has gone through several changes, one of which, was writing daily in this blog. I haven’t hit my goal of daily postings but I’m proud that I have kept it going this long. For most people writing a blog is one of those new years resolutions that comes and goes quickly, but for me, it’s here to stay. I may not have reached my daily goals but I am going to keep going anyway.

I think one of the things that make’s people successful in life is the ability to think positive and to keep going in spite of what’s happened in the past without beating themselves up and that’s what I intend to do with this blog. I wish I could say that I am farther along with it than I am, however, I think the consistency is the important thing here, not unlike most things in life.

Having a six month goal to become debt free may seem like an unrealistic goal to most people, but for me, it’s entirely doable. I admit that I should be closer to the goal than I am but there is still time and when you figure in the real estate possibilities that exist out there right now accomplishing this goal is still possible.

I think one of the keys to success is to keep going in spite of the circumstances. My plan has changed somewhat due to many things, one of which was the weather. Here in Oklahoma we were hit pretty hard this year with snow as were many throughout the United States and while it did slow me down on the Real Estate side of things, it gave me time to work online.
While the online ventures have not produced the desired result yet I know it’s just a matter of time as long as I stick with it.

I have learned a lot of things this year about the internet, one was how to set up email marketing campaigns. I had always heard about it but had no idea how complicated it was to create. There are many things to think about that one doesn’t see behind the scenes, such as, setting up thank you pages and confirmation emails. I have also learned that it is more professional to have your own domain and website but I am trying to do all of this without one.
I know it’s not as professional looking but I am curious to find out how far I can go using all the free tools and online resources I can find. I understand the importance of being credible in the publics eye’s but I also see that there are many resources available if one will only use them and since I have no money to spend on this project I thought it would be fun to see how far I can go without spending a penny on hosting or domains. I know it’s smarter in the long run but I can’t help but think about the fact that I am still here, sharing information with you even though it may be a cheaper version and not as effective. It is still amazing to me that I can even do this, sitting here sharing my thoughts with the world knowing that people I never met are reading this and maybe getting something good out of it, and for me, that’s the entire goal.
It’s true, I would like to make money at this and in fact that’s one of the goals here but I also want to connect with people and be a sort of positive showing in this negative world.
It’s so easy for all of us to get down on ourselves when things don’t turn out the way we would like which is why I think it’s important to come together and share with each other in order to stay inspired and help each other out in any way we can.
I also know that the things I am writing about may not be the most fun, I mean, this sort of content doesn’t generate the kind of response most marketers are looking for but I don’t care, it means something to me and that’s why I am doing it. My hope is that someone will get something good out of it, that will make it all worth while.
The trick for is me is how do I share my goals and thoughts while at the same time providing good content that people will not only enjoy but which also may help them along their own path while at the same time providing some sort of income to pay me for my time.
I don’t want everything in my life to be about money and when it comes to blogging, I do it because I enjoy it, but I do want to provide useful information that will help people and if I can find a way to do that and also earn at least a small income the I feel everyone wins.
The Win Win concept is dear to me, in fact, I plan to think and do business that way on every level, including real estate.
I once heard that if you give people more then they bargained for they will always come back for more and you will never be short on customers! That’s how I want to live my life, giving back more than I take. So, for the moment, my goal with this blog is to give out some inspiration when I can while providing some useful information such as how to market online while providing links and info that may help people out. If I can provide good help not only through content but through the links and offers on this site then I feel I have done my job especially if those links and offers don’t cost you any money.

So far, everything I have done with this blog is designed to offer useful products through the use of free services. I do this through several venues, one of which is the Blastoff Network, a free useful service and website that is completely free and a great resource. It helps you find the online shopping deals you need while paying you on every purchase and it’s a completely free service! There are also many other great uses for it such as the free Hulu player, news, games and social networking plug in apps that really are a help when your in a hurry. They have done a great job of bringing everything on the web into one place while offering a free way to actually get paid.
Some of the other services I promote are also all free. There is Geostring, a free networking service which pays you $10 free just for signing up with the ability to make much more as you spread the word.
Then there is my new favorite one, PeopleString. This free service actually pay’s you to surf the web! Clicking on all the things you normally do like facebook or email can actually earn you a profit!
I also offer some of the normal things that do cost money such as the Amazon product links, they cost you money and I don’t earn anything unless there is a purchase made but I figure lot’s of people shop there anyway so why not make it available just in case. I may be talking about a book or video for instance and if they were going to look it up and buy it anyway then way not offer them a link on my site, this way they might get a discount and I would make some money on the sale. The goal with this idea is to have things available even though it’s not my main source of income. What I am trying to say is that my goal was not to sell them a book from Amazon, I was just trying to give out some inspiration but I realize they might want or need that and if they were going to buy it anyway and I was the one who inspired them then why not make something for my time even though that sale was not the goal for writing that particular article.
I am not saying that I don’t want to make money online, of course I do, making money online is something that I have always wanted to do but my goal is find ways to do it while giving people good content and inspiration along the way.
One thing I love about this is that most of the offers I am promoting are all free! They are also good resources and helpful in daily activities.
I like that fact that I can offer free resources that actually put money in people pockets while providing the income I need and this idea is different than most. Most of the time we are used to people taking money out of our pockets in order for them to gain, but with this method, I can actually put money in your pocket before I get anything in return! To me, this is the perfect win win solution and it’s exciting that I can even do it this way!
I also like the fact that I have found a way to provide this kind of payback by using all free products.
This blog was free, google is hosting it, the programs I am providing are also free and they pay you money back on things you are already doing!
So, not only am I offering great products using free services that are all free and actually put money back into your pocket but I am also using free methods to promote them!
This way everyone wins! Even the people who host my blog are winning because the of the traffic I drive to my blog makes them more valuable.

So, I may not have hit my real estate goal this year yet and time may seem to be slipping by, I am excited that I am actually able to sit here and share some thoughts with you that at the very least may be some inspiration and positive input for you, but I am doing in all in a free fashion while at the same time offering you all different ways to make money by using free services!

To me, this whole process has been worth it so far, even though it looks like hitting my goal may be harder then I thought, I am happy that I have not let things stop me this year from continuing on.

I will leave you with this thought, if I can continue offering free information using free resources to not only spread the word but to also make you money while at the same time possibly earning some myself for the effort, I ask you, what’s wrong with that? To me, it’s an amazing thing and to think that this all came about because I stuck to my goal even though it doesn’t seem to be going the way I wanted it to yet, I know that it’s just a matter of time!

Magic Tweet launch update

My goal over the last three day’s was to have my new software ready for download. Unfortunately this task is taking much longer than expected. The software will allow one to post tweets from your desktop in real time or at scheduled intervals that you decide. There are many things to think about when setting this up, one of which, is what to name it.
After careful thought and suggestions from my readers I have decided to call it "Magic Tweet".
So when will the launch be? I’m not sure yet, since I don’t want to get your hopes up until I know for sure, all I can say is, I will keep you posted! I didn’t think it would take this long to get it ready and since I’ve already wet your appetites I don’t want to give another launch date until I know for sure when it’s going to happen.

I will also post some instructions to show people how to use twitter to post to other services such as facebook or myspace. I think this will be helpful for those who don’t use or like twitter. There are many other applications out there one can use to post to these services but few allow you to schedule your posts. Scheduling automatic posts to go out is a cool feature that this software will provide making it very cool to have.
If your not a twitter user but you would like to schedule updates to your facebook page (or other services) then this software will be for you. Twitter does allow you to set it to private, this way you can use the service as a tool to post to your other services. This is helpful if you just want to use it to post to facebook.
Scheduling posts has many creative uses, one of which is birthday reminders or events. If you have an event such as a party and want to remind your friends via facebook with regular updates but may not have the time to do so, you can use this to do it for you automatically.

Originally my launch date was today, however, it’s going to take another week, minimum. I wish I could have it ready sooner, all I can say is, it’s turning out to be much more complicated than I expected.
I appreciate everyone’s patience in waiting, I can tell you, it’s going to be worth the wait. This will be a very small download, user friendly and basically very simple. I think it’s better to make it easy for everyone to use.

It amazes me how far I have come in just a short time this year. When I started this blog project on Jan 1st this year, I had no idea I would be offering some free software in just a few short months, or that I could even do it. Thanks to the affiliate programs I am associated with I can even offer this. It just goes to show you what you can accomplish if you just stick with it and keep learning.

I have been working day and night on this for the past several weeks, although this week, I did take a short much needed break. I enjoy blogging and hope to offer better more rich content in the future, but for now, I’m writing about what I learn each day.
Todays post is small in comparison to my last few but I thought it necessary to at least give you an update on my progress.

I am excite to announce my new software, I’m calling it, Magic Mike Coffees Twitter Tool.
Internet marketing can be quite the complicated thing, especially if you don’t know what your doing. I am by no means an expert but I have learned some cool things lately, one of which is the Software side of things!
Since I am a twitter fan and use it often a tool like this comes in handy to say the least. I do many things online, so to have a tool that works right from my desktop is cool because it saves me having to open to many browser windows.

I dream of the Beach!

I dream of the beach, where the sand is soft, the sun is warm, and the sound of the waves crashing the shore fills the air. A cool salty breeze brushes my cheeks while the soft warm water carries me away. The best part is at night with the open sky showing all the stars gleaming away. Settling next to a warm campfire with friends and good music, roasting some marsh-mellows and thinking, it doesn’t get any better than this!

There are many beautiful beaches in the world and some of the best are in Costa Rica where I grew up. I plan to go back there soon on vacation, to witness the beauty I’ve been missing for so many years. I can’t wait to go back, it’s all I think about these day’s, but the real question is, can I do it for good? That’s the plan, to make this online thing work, to get another house and then parlay those investments into a real income.

Most people wonder why nothing happens in their life accept the same old thing. They wonder how to get ahead, where to go and tools or knowledge to use. I felt the same way for a very long time until I realized in order to get different results I have to do something different. It wasn’t just a matter of taking Action, it’s also about what kind of Action to take?

Action is my new favorite word this year which will move me in a forward direction. The problem is knowing which direction your going in. Knowing how to get to your goal is half the battle. We seem to be paralyzed by what we don’t know or understand, afraid to take the next step without knowing how it’s going to work out. That fear is what holds us back, the fear of the unknown. Maybe you never had this problem but for me it’s been a constant battle.

I can proudly say that I am winning the battle and moving forward even though I don’t always understand what’s happening at the time. I know that moving in some direction as opposed to no direction is sometimes better because at least that can be redirected. It’s when we don’t move at all that we stagnate and wither away. It’s when we think we have a good idea but we don’t act on it for the lack of knowing how to even start.

I am here to say don’t let that stop you anymore. It’s time to get moving, even if we don’t have all the answers, some direction is better than none.

What I have learned in the past few years is that moving is always better. I know we have to be smart about it, we can’t just go in any direction, but my point is simply this; sometimes the answer doesn’t come until you start to move. Once you start moving you can then quickly adjust as needed.

That’s why I am writing this blog, simply to start moving and keep going until I find my way. I’m also doing my best to plan it out, taking it one step at a time. This blog represents to me the act of moving in the direction I want to go even if I’m not sure what that is yet. I know I want to make money online, so I’m doing it by setting up some offers to go along with my writings. The hope is to generate good content that people will like and while they are here, they may take a minute to do something else that gets them paid.

It seemed like a good place to start, writing my thoughts, getting them on paper and at the same time learning how to offer things that people may like and get some help from. This does two things for me, it gives me the opportunity to make a commission on a sale, but most of all, it’s proof in my mind that I can do it if I will only try.

Tactically Fun!

Take a deep drag of your favorite cigarette folks because with this one your going to need it. At least I did anyway, it was the only way I could get through the mess. This online stuff can be quite complicated sometimes, even makes me want to give up, but that I will not do.

I have some exciting, confusing, enlightening and quite frankly, scary things to share with you today. As you know, the internet is a very big place, lot’s to do and see and not all of it’s good. I’m sure most of us have learned this the hard way but at least we got through it.

Marketing online is sometimes scary when you think of all the different ways you can do it. The many tactics that are currently used along with the ones to come are quite mind boggling. There is surveys, emails, blogs, game’s, social networking, and the list goes on. Knowing which one to use and how can sometimes be hard to figure out, but there is one good thing about it all, at least it’s free. Well, I should say, most of it anyway. There is any number of tricks being used to get your money online, one of them being the good old fashioned steal right from your bank with a nifty little program, I think we call them Viruses.

Although I am still fairly new to all of this I am beginning to understand how it all works. The name of the game is how to get people to react in the fashion you desire. What makes people click? I don’t know! I don’t think anyone does, but that doesn’t stop them from trying everything they can think of to get us to do it. My favorite little "tactic" if you will, is the email opt-in. I have been known to receive as many as 30 emails or more in one day just from signing up on a free list. That doesn’t bother me so much, they are easily filtered out if need be but what does concern me is how vast the amount of information is.

we are all on information overload thus making the job of the marketer even harder, especially online when an easy click is but seconds away. This has all led me to wonder how in the world I am ever going to make it work. I feel like I am competing against so many others that there is seemingly no way to get people to listen. You add on the fact that most of us are more interested in something bad that’s happened instead trying to find some good that it’s almost impossible to get any response unless I’m a rapper sporting the latest single.

So my question to you is, how much more could you want? I mean really, there is already so much to do online that it’s hard to figure out exactly what people want. Most of us want to make more money and that is why we see so much of that on here, the endless promotions of the next great opportunity are everywhere. The question is, which one do you try and how much will it actually work? Sadly, there is really no way to ever really know.

While these thoughts have slowed me down a bit they surely have not stopped me. I know there is some real value out there and I aim to find it for you and bring it here any way that I can think of to do it. For this reason I have decided to have some fun online with all this marketing stuff and try to think outside the box.

Anyone spending any time at all talking to the gurus will tell you that there are many strategies to use. They know what works and what doesn’t but they are also still bound to those rules. This is something I have decided not to do! All though I don’t want to waste my time trying to re-invent the wheel, I am also not going to be bound by any box!

This internet thing to me is so diverse and creative that I have decided to take it to the next level and just get as creative as I can think to be! For this reason I am going to make some tries at working up some new games or ways for you to find things online that you might not have thought of before. My goal is to try and think of things to do or new ways of bringing you the information you seek in ways that no one else has thought of before.

That’s why I am writing this, is to let you know that although I may use some tactics that look old fashioned, be fore warned that it isn’t so! Try not to judge my book by it’s cover, instead, hold on for a good ride! I am going to do my best to bring you things in new ways and mainly just get as creative as I can think to be and all just for the fun of it!

Falling Rain

Waking up to the sound of falling rain outside makes me want to move back to the tropics. There is nothing like the ocean on a sunny afternoon or the sound of the waves rolling in when your working on your noon nap. I don’t know about you but for me, afternoons like theses are the only way to live.

This must be why I am working so hard to make things happen online and in life. My goal is to spend as many afternoons this way as humanly possible. Don’t get me wrong, although I consider myself a city boy and love all that it offers, there is nothing like the sounds of mother nature and a hammock.

It seems I have spent way to much time doing the opposite in the past few years and I aim to change the in the serious near future. If your like most people they think money can’t be made online or in real estate without some special power, I how ever disagree.

I know there is plenty of opportunity out there, plenty of money to be made and I won’t quit until I get my fair share. So you think I’m greedy huh? No more then the next guy, I just don’t see the point in spending my life in ruin. Meaning, I don’t see the sense in going to work everyday and still not having enough money to pay the light bill at the end of my long drawn out week doing something I hate. Then there is the thought of spending 80% of my time with people I would never associate with if I didn’t have to. For me, it all adds up to a very simple solution to a complicated equation, GO HOME.

I mean, really, let’s get down to the brass tax of it all and finally let the rubber meet the road when it comes what we all really want! Let’s face it, no one like going to work everyday, including me! It’s a necessary evil and even then doesn’t always work out for the best. When you can’t even pay your bills after weeks of work then my question is, what’s it all about?

I know there are some gold nuggets out there just waiting to be found and I aim to scoop them up just as soon as I can. I don’t want you to think I am just money hungry because that wouldn’t be the truth. The truth is, I just don’t want to work all day to simply be broke at the end of the week. That wouldn’t be so bad if I at least had everything paid for when I was done but when you add in the fact that it still wasn’t enough to make ends meat then I tend to say it’s time to do something else. It would be different if it was doing something I loved, then the sacrifice would make sense. Surely I am not the only one that feels this way!

So now the question is, how do we do it? Well it’s simple, we must find another way. Meaning we must put our heads together and get to work finding other means to make that happen. I know what your thinking, if it was that simple then why don’t we all do it? Because we live in fear! Fear of what has already happened, fear of what may happen next.

I choose not to live in fear anymore! I am going to find a way to make my dreams come true if I have to work day and night to do it! I am going to be debt free this year by birthday on June 1st no matter what. I will say that I am off to a much slower start than anticipated, however, I refuse to let the stop me! I know there is some gold in them there mountains and I am going to dig for it every day and list it here. Anything and everything I find I am going to bring your way and we will all work on it together until we find a way to make it happen!

My "Secret"

As many of you know, I have been busy this week working on a "Secret" Project. I am happy to announce that it’s finally complete!

Action is the name of the game for me this year and this "Secret" is my way of proving to you that I am doing what I preach! I am putting my Idea’s into action with this idea and I can’t wait to share it with you.

I’m just a regular guy trying to make it online and in life! This blog is where I post the daily actions I take to becoming debt free by June 1st this year. Although I’m a little behind in my postings I am still committed to making my deadline. It may take me awhile but I know it will work!

So, in the spirit of action, I will "let you in" on my Secret! Most of you know that my plan to becoming debt free involves using Real Estate Strategies Along with Online Marketing. So far I have spent most of the year working online, mainly because I can do it from home and I believe the returns will be massive and duplicatable. My goal as I learn things is to pass them on to you so we can all share in the wealth!

My goal online is to see how much money I can make this year using all the free tools I can find! I am doing this to not only make some money but to prove thatit can be done. This way, when I find something that works, I can share it with you and since it’s free you can do the same! With that in mind, the website I set up was free using google sites

If there is one thing I have learned in life it’s this, you have to fight for what you believe in! You can’t let anyone steal your Dreams. I am fighting for mine and sharing it with the world.

My "Secret" I’ve been talking about is a Free & Everyone can Benefit from it. It has taken me several weeks to set it all up and I am happy to finally share it with you. You really have to see it to believe it!

We all get so bombarded with gimmicks that it’s hard to believe there is something out there that actually works. I’m here to tell you that this does work, IT’s Free to use and has explosive potential!

So what is it you ask? I set up a Special Website explaining it in detail. I kept the info short and sweet. The site is Informational only and is laid out very well in an easy to read format.The site is set up very basic, no flashy stuff, just simple black text on a white background, easy to see and read. There is a menu on the left with only a few selections, I did this on purpose to keep it simple. I used some free videos that explain the whole thing, they are very short, about 1.5 minutes each. I even made some simple instructions that anyone can follow if they like what they see.

I know what your going to say, awww Michael, come on, is it really True? Well, of course I’m going to say YESSSS, but you really have to see it to believe it!

TIME CRUSHING!

Time, the one thing we never have enough of. I’m forever working to organize my life in more efficient way’s in order to get the most out of it.

I even walk faster then I used to, in fact, I’ve added the combined ability of not only walking and talking, I can simultaneously chew gum, wave a puffed cancer stick using sign language in multiple tongues listening to the radio as I send text messages while driving my Audi at excessive speeds sipping my coffee!

Knowing this kind of behaviour leads to an early grave, all I can say is....they don’t call me "Magic Mike" for nothing! No..seriously, I realize the extreme implications of multi tasking myself into oblivion, but the truth is, I don’t care! Time is not on my side, it never has been. That’s not to say I haven’t tried to "reason" with it because Lord knows I have, if you don’t believe me, just drive past my house at any hour and you will notice me in the front yard yelling at the open sky! If you think that’s bad, come by on the weekends, I have clock crushing parties in back yard and yes, real sledge hammer’s are involved! Ever seen an alarm clock fly through the air in pieces, it’s one of those "once in a lifetime" events!

To make matter’s worse, time even seems to be speeding up! Ever wake up at 8:00am just to turn around and notice half the day’s gone by and all you did was eat breakfast and pet the cat? I’ve even had day’s when rolling over to get some sleep was the only option I had after the alarm went off because taking a morning leak would take to long and the day would be over so why bother, might as well do it tomorrow.

It’s amazing to me how long it takes just to do the basics, like eating breakfast or paying a bill, running to the post office or buying groceries, much less going to work while simultaneously starting a business, my gosh, who has the time? That’s why my new buzz word is Automation! Yup, my goal in life now is to automate everything! I want to come home and have the garage door open with music starting to play while the lights turn on with coffee made and food waiting on the table in front of the window so I can watch the lawn get mowed while the clothes are drying. If I could, I would even have someone sleep for me so I don’t have to wake up to the noise of the alarm clock sending out that ear piercing chill that makes me want to shatter glass with my bare hands.

I truly believe the key is organization. Simply knowing what I must do is not enough, if I can plan it out, think ahead on the details in a preemptive fashion, success will quickly find me.

Speaking of time, that’s all for now, I have to get some sleep before work and if I hurry I might be able to close my eye’s long enough to actually see the inside of my eyelid’s.

DAY 23 More Gold!

Coming home after a long night at the casino. I’m tired but still excited about the new traffic getting tools I found online a few days ago. I can’t wait to check online and see how many hit’s I’ve had on my website’s since putting the new tools to work.

I’m checking the new Sokule profile along with the Kuletrack stats to see how many new followers I have on my twitter page. I am also checking the High Traffic Mart site to see how many hit’s I’ve gotten using the new links.

The High Traffic Mart links are the coolest thing I’ve found online. Since it’s a free service and produces add credits which shows my links on other people’s web pages all over the net, I am excited to see how many click they generated.

Since I have been learning how to do affiliate marketing online these new tools are exciting because if they work like I think they will, it will help me greatly in attaining my goal of becoming debt free this year.

I am excited to tell you that the new links generated over 50 hits each! Thats awesome because that means it works! Now that I have some new way’s to generate traffic to my sites, its time to work on finding new affiliate offers to promote. With these tools in hand I could possibly make some nice cash online on the side which I can take to pay off some bills.

Most people it seems think that online marketing doesn’t work but I am here to tell you that it does! Although I haven’t made any money online yet, I know it’s just a matter of time! My goal of becoming debt free is the motivation behind getting these things set up and running but I know that once I hit my goal they will still continue to bring in money. I am hoping that I can continue to make money from these ventures for a long time to come, even after I have hit my goal of becoming debt free.

I like my job and have no intentions of changing it any time soon but it would be nice to work for extra money instead of only making enough to barely survive.

Another place to look for affiliate programs is using a third party site called clickbank.com. This is a free listing of affiliate programs to promote and today I am looking into some new ones to use. I can’t wait to start receiving income from my online ventures. Once I have these set up I will switch gears and start looking for real estate to invest in.

Initially, I started the real estate business with my mom so we could make the money we needed. We will still do real estate but are also trying to create multiple sources of income. I figure that this way, with several different ventures bringing in money I won’t have to rely on just one and will be able to look at each one with an open mind.

It’s easy to stress out over a source if it’s the only one you have, this is why having a diverse set of systems helps to look at each one more objectively.

I am excited about the new progress, it’s nice to see something actually work the way it is supposed too! Even though I could stay up all day working on this I will get some sleep and prepare for the week ahead.

Day 22 Friday Madness

Yesterday I told you about my new traffic getting tool from High Traffic Mart and how I found it by posting and taking action even when I didn’t feel like doing it.

Since I was true to my goal and took action I was led to this new tool by a friend of mine on Facebook. I must say, this new tool is revolutionizing my traffic flow and getting me more clicks then I could have imagined! It’s hard to believe that something so simple and free could work so well, but I am here to tell you that it has!

This is simply a testament to taking action! Like I always say, successful people work on their goal even when they don’t feel like and since I did the same thing I have now seen the results of persistence!

Today, High Traffic Mart has not only gotten me more clicks but has also led to some new tools along with the affiliates. One of which is called Sokule and works well with twitter. This posting service is also a network of like minded internet marketers that link together to help each other out and get more exposure.

Another tool they have is called kultrack and it works hand in hand with Sokule, together they link to my Twitter account and help me generate more targeted traffic then I would have thought.

I spent most of the day setting up the profiles for these new tools and posting the links they provided to earn add credits and drive more traffic to my sites. So far my blog is gaining popularity, although the progress is slow, it’s happening! I am excited to help people while taking action on my ideas and hopefully helping someone along the way.

Even though I need to sleep today in order to be ready for work tonight, I am so excited about this new technique I found that I just can’t help myself. I know this is the hardest night of the week for me but I also know that one must sacrifice in order to get to where I want to be. My goal is to be debt free this year and this is exciting because these are the things I must do to get there, so even though I’m tired, I am willing to go the extra mile to see my dream come true!

As usual, I say to all, keep following your dreams by taking action!

DAY 20 Loitering

Here I am, Loitering in my own room, if you can call it that. I say that because I seem to be out of inspiration today. Although I am happy to have the day off from work and should be typing or working away online, I seem to be having a "writers block" day.

Ever have one of those days when you just couldn’t seem to get going? I know how you feel!

As I stated in earlier posts, successful people work towards their goal even when they don’t feel like it, so to continue in that inspiration I am writing this blog today even though I feel I might now have much to say.

My goal with this blog is to post everything I do each day on my road to being debt free by June 1st this year. I though it would be fun to write down each action I take no matter how big or small. I thought it may help others to know that anyone can chase their dreams if they simply decide to do it and hopefully by reading these posts they would gather more inspiration to get going on it even if they don’t know how.

Yesterday I talked about affiliate marketing online and how I have been learning the ropes and getting started with this strategy. I still believe it’s possible to make enough money through this process to pay my bills and help me to my goal of becoming debt free this year.

I know this is a short post today but I figure it’s not always about the content, in this case, it’s the idea of finishing what I started. My goal this year was to write in my blog each day the steps that I take and while I feel like I am failing today, I am at least going to complete one thing even if all that means is staying true to my idea of writing something each day.

So..In the "spirit" of keeping true to my word I am at posing this even though I feel it could be better. I think its important to finish something and just the physical act of writing this blog today, no matter how lacking the content may be, is to me an important example of taking action on my dreams. I’ll tell you why I feel this to be true, even though there is not much content to this post, I feel the action of doing it is still consistent with my idea to take action and since that is something in my life I need to change I am continuing on even though I don’t feel inspired.

Thanks again for reading, hopefully tomorrow will bring better results, so stay tuned! At least I can say that even though I didn’t feel like taking action today I did it anyway and changing the past by applying action in the present is, today, my way of chasing my dreams.

Day 19 Affiliate Training

Tuesday morning and I’m just returning from the Red Cup Cafe. As you know, I also work nights at the casino and was "released" around 9am. This is the first day of my 3-day weekend so I am excited about some time off.

We just came from the cafe, where, every week we meet with a friend to discuss raising money to send medical supplies to Africa. One of the way’s we do this is through Affiliate marketing online. While I am still fairly new to the idea, I have done lot’s of research and am currently working on several way’s to use this strategy.

My new friend at the cafe is also using the affiliate marketing techniques to raise money for the medical supplies she needs. It’s nice to finally meet someone I can talk to about this because most of my friends don’t think it’s possible. She is also learning this strategy and I have been able to help her with some things I have learned.

I showed her how to use the google calendar along with other products to help her be more efficient online. She is like a sponge absorbing everything she can get her hands on. The thing I like the most is the fact that she is older then me but does not let that stand in her way. Most people think it’s to late for them start something new and she is an example of how to keep moving forward no matter how old you are. She is by no means and old lady, I am simply saying that it’s nice to meet someone who doesn’t let age stand in the way.

With this attitude I think she will go far. We are learning the online business together from the ground up. There is so much to it that it is easy to get lost in a sea of information. I try my best to weed through the multitude of online offers and seek out the best info I can using well known sources with a good track record.

Affiliate marketing is an awesome way to get started in online marketing. It’s probably the cheapest and best way to begin because you don’t need a website to get started. There is a lot of work involved the idea of simply sending traffic to someone’s website and getting paid a commission, it’s a simple idea and it works. The trick is to find ways to successfully generate enough traffic to pay for the advertising costs of paid per click or any other source of advertising. There are many other ways to generate free traffic but it takes time to build a names list to market to and one must set up accounts with multiple social media sites to start getting a steady stream of clicks.

Generating traffic for any website or program be it yours or another party is a fascinating process. It can get quite complicated to keep track of so many profiles, logins and passwords but its a necessary evil if one is to be successful at it.

The whole process is amazing to me and I spend most of my time online building blogs and then directing traffic to them in order to make money from the links therein. I am by no means an expert yet but I am doing all I can to learn how to be successful at this idea.

Blogs are one way to earn, another is having your own website. I started one a while back and although it’s not mine anymore and was sold to someone else, at least it still works and is making money. That means that I must be learning something and doing it right to make a site that is still working.

We built that site from nothing using the stores online software and while I can’t wait to build more, my goal for now is to generate income promoting other people links. One thing I do is this blog for instance. My purpose for this blog is 3 fold, one, to learn the process of traffic generation by doing it from the ground up, two, to raise money from the google links on the page and three, to possibly help people become motivated to chase their own dreams by posting information that helps them along their own way.

I figure that even though I am not the expert that some people may enjoy watching someone start from scratch and make it work. I hope that it helps someone along the way.

DAY 18 Value of Free Seminars

It’s Monday again, already! Only one more night to go until my weekend days! Monday’s are cool to me, I like them because unlike most people, it signifies the end of the week for me, so while most are dreading the beginning I am looking forward to the end, for me, it’s my Friday!

Most of the world seems to live for the weekend and I am no different. There is nothing wrong with looking forward to time away from work for any reason but it is sad to me that this is the only thing most of us have to look forward to during the week. For this reason my goal this year is to schedule different activities and even trips throughout the year. There are many things one can do in the city for entertainment or at the very least to further your education or life experience. One of the best is going to a free seminar! I love them, you know the ones I’m talking about, those pesky infomercials that come on late at night. They offer you the world and make it sound so easy!

It’s funny to me how because these offers sound to good to be true that people will use that as an excuse not to go the them. I never understood that, even though you know they are there to sell you something doesn’t mean you have to buy what they are offering. To me, they are great opportunities to see business from a different perspective. Think about it, even though you know going in that your not going to buy for what ever reason you can still go and enjoy what they have to say.

I love going to these, many of them are free and even offer free gifts and sometimes lunches! To me this is a fun reason to get out of the house and do something different. It only costs you some gas money and who knows, you might even learn something!

IT’s also fun for me because I enjoy going to new hotels, just the whole experience of being in a professional setting with people who are in a good mood and have something positive to say is a great reason to go. We are constantly bombarded in life with negative input from many different sources such as the news, friends, family, strangers who just cut us off in traffic, you name it, the list is endless. This reason alone is enough to get me to go, even if I don’t like what they have to say or agree with their method or sales pitch, just the fact that I got to go out and see a new place, meet some energetic people and learn something new about the market place is enough reason for me to do it.

There is a lot to be said about being around positive people or having some kind of regular activity or event where you can get some positive input or feedback. Church does the trick for a lot of people and while there is nothing wrong with that it does tend to be one sided sometimes. All I mean by that is the fact that normally you are there for only one reason, be it there is nothing wrong with that reason and there is nothing wrong with going because it can be a real source of positive energy to be around and if this is your only outlet then by all means take advantage, all I am saying is that they are there to worship, nothing more. I realize this may not be the case in every church, I am simply saying that I think it’s important to get other views of the world that your not expecting. Church is great and serves it’s purpose and there a many reasons to go, I am simply saying that it’s a big world out there with many different points of view and I think it helps to be involved in different arena’s so as to get a well rounded view of the world and it’s struggles and passions.

I am simply trying to say, that I don’t think church should be the only place you get positive input or feedback on your dreams or goals. Find like minded people to hang around, pick the people with similar goals or industries like real estate for instance. I like to go to the local real estate investors meetings, they have them once a month and they are a great source of positive input and information. Many of them even go to church and they also realize that finding like minded people in your area of interest is an important part of a well rounded schedule. Just being around people who have the same interests as you do will help you move on your ideas because they help you see the same thing in a different way and sometimes that is all you need to get going.

So, my advice is get out there, take advantage of some of the free seminars available. Try them out, go in with an open mind, learn what you can and don’t worry if can’t buy anything, your main goal is to get out, do something different, it’s free and you just might learn something about the market place you didn’t know before while having a good time and networking with like minded people.

That is what I am doing today, I am adding the dates of the next investors meeting to my schedule and calling for free info on an infomercial I saw last night about the stock market.

I am looking forward to going to the free seminar, learning something about the stock market which is another avenue I plan to explore in the future when I have some money to invest. I can’t wait to learn how to day trade online in the future. Even though this is a long term goal I still need info about it and this is the perfect opportunity to get some in a fun way.

DAY 17 Hope Abounds

Another Sunday has come and gone, my my, how time flies when your having fun!

This was mostly a day of rest for me although I did work online some more. Doing research of warehouse properties to use for my new poker idea.

I have always wanted to develop a weekly show with the setting around a poker room. Shoot it like the do the E.R. episodes, the only difference would be the situations would revolve around a poker room. Show the behind the scenes stuff like what the dealers go through on a daily basis and so forth. More on this idea in a later post.

For now, today is resting up for the up coming weekend to have the energy to do make the most out of my days off.

I did learn something interesting today, it goes along with my feeling putting action to my dreams this year. I always try to learn something new each day, even when it comes from a source I wasn’t expecting, in this case, it came from the unknown, a player at the casino.

His words, which I hate to say, were actually inspiring. I say "hate to say it" because I have grown immune to the players and their petty views on life, which explains why they spend all their time chasing money by gambling, but sometimes, even they have a lucid moment and one must pay attention to all sources in order to gain the most out of life.

This player pointed out the even though we all have things we want out of life, we often put them off with no regard as to why. We often justify our existence or circumstances and decide to settle for less even when we don’t really want to. Now, this alone was not the revelation of insight I am speaking about, I now all to well about losing time and not acting on the things I want, which is the purpose of my new found reason for being this year and that is to put action to my ideas.

The thing that struck me about what he said was not the words or ideas he was speaking about, not they are not important, because they are, but it was the fact that he said it. What struck me was the realization that everyone has something on the inside that they want to do.

I knew this to be true, but it was nice to hear someone else say it. It’s easy to forget that there are others in the world that think or feel the same way we do. We tend to forget or feel sorry for ourselves, thinking that we are the only ones that feel that way and that is simply not always true. There are many people with similar feelings and thoughts and to me it’s comforting to know that I am not the only one out there who feels the same way.

Knowing this helps me to not get to down on myself about any one thing because I know that I am not the only one going through it. It doesn’t matter what it is, just the thought that others may have the same struggle helps me to know that I am still normal for feeling that way and this thought helps me deal with it in a realistic fashion.

This thought of acting now was in my mind all day, so when I got home, even though I was tired, I got online and worked toward my goals some more.
